An easy and affordable introduction to printmaking to produce A5 flower designs for framing or card giving.

Printmaking using printing foam, collage and watercolour paints.

Printing Foam is an easy, economic and very popular introduction to printmaking. Made from a thin, soft polystyrene, printing is lightweight, stores easily and is very safe to use. There is no need for any sharp or dangerous tools, no press or special tools required- just a blunt pencil and printing ink.

THE lesson includes choosing a design to create the printing surface. Painting or collaging a paper surface and then printing with black ink on top of this to create a frameable design.

Your tutor, Helen Richards is an established artist and educator, who has a love of colour and drawing nature to create her stylised, whimsical paintings. She loves creating these quick prints to frame and use as gifts or a cards for special occasions. Her work can be viewed at HelenRichardsART.

Materials needed- bring an apron.

Material Supplied: printing foam and ink, watercolour paints, collage materials, disposable gloves and paper. Tea and coffee

This workshop is being held in the St Saviour's Activity Hall at the back of the church as part of the Lockyer Valley Arts Trail and the Laidley Spring Festival.
