The Lockyer Valley Regional Council Australia Day Awards recognises people, groups and events from the community that have made an outstanding contribution to the community, and for exceptional achievement in the areas of Sport and Culture.

The categories that received nominations for the 2018 Awards are:

• Citizen of the Year
• Young Citizen of the Year
• Junior Sports Award
• Sporting / Community Group of the Year
• Arts and Cultural Award
• Community Event of the Year
• Volunteer of the Year

Nominees will be recognised and winners announced on Friday 26 January at the ceremony being held at the Gatton Shire Hall from 9am. Whilst invitations have been extended to nominees, nominators and past winners, the general public is most welcome to attend. With the move to the Gatton Shire Hall, many more guests can be accommodated and reservations for the public aren't necessary however should you wish to reserve a seat, please phone 5462 0369 or email lockyerevents@lvrc.qld.gov.au. 

The Citizenship Ceremony will once be held as part of the program. This year we look forward to welcoming the candidates to the Lockyer Valley and sharing a bit to eat with them after the ceremony.
