Spring Bluff Historic Railway Station

Location: McCormack Drive, Murphys Creek, Qld, Australia

Spring Bluff Railway Station is a popular wedding, picnic and photographic location. Bring lunch and a thermos and relax in the public picnic areas. Picnic facilities include free electric BBQ's, tables and chairs, public toilets and a playground for the kids. There is no charge to enter the grounds and car parking capacity allows for up to 50 vehicles at any one time.

Also learn about the history of the area and view photographs of the destruction caused during 2011's flood event.

Wedding facilities include a gazebo and wedding arch located within a large flat grassed area. Smaller wedding locations are available in-front of the caretaker’s cottage and in-front of the Spring Bluff garden sign.

Please note that due to the historic and undulating nature of the site it is not wheelchair accessible. A disabled toilet is located on the Station Platform. Elderly visitors may find the steep steps and pathways to the cafe and higher picnic areas inaccessible. McCormack Drive is the only access road to Spring Bluff and is extremely steep. Caravans are not recommended.

Please note: The passenger train to Spring Bluff is operated by Queensland Rail and only operates at specified times during the Carnival of Flowers in September each year.

Hours: Grounds open daily during daylight hours only.
