Crikey, it's Australia Day! The Laidley Pioneer Village is celebrating and you're all invited. The day kicks off at 8.30am with the Big Breakfast. It's great Aussie tucker, it's affordable and it's guaranteed to fill you up. Well until morning tea at least! Don't miss the Flag Raising Ceremony at 10am, followed by the Emergency Services Challenge before lunch. Pick you team, either the SES or the Rural Fire Brigade, for the Tug O' War and the Vintage Water Pump Challenge. Which team will shoot the water the highest?
Displays include the Light Horse Troop, Radio control toys, Ghost Tour plus demonstrations in vintage wood working and blacksmithing. If that doesn't keep you busy, there is also stage coach rides, James the Donkey cart rides, face painting, the inflatable train, sand pit lucky dip and of course music, singing, poetry and a highlight will be the lovely Lyndal Einam playing the pianola.
Food and drinks are available for purchase, starting with the Big Breakfast menu from 8.30am, Devonshire Tea/Coffee, lamingtons and cold drinks for morning tea and a BBQ lunch.
