AUSTRALIA DAY AWARDS and CITIZENSHIP CEREMONY, Gatton Shire Hall, 52 North Street, Gatton. 9am – 12pm. Free tickets required. P: 1300 005 872

It's Australia Day, and the community is invited to come together to acknowledge the people that make the Lockyer Valley a great place to live, work and play and to welcome new citizens to the region. The Australia Day Awards commences at 9am, followed by the Citizenship Ceremony from 11am. Free brunch in the park from 10.30am - 12pm with entertainment by local band, The Ambreys. Join us for morning tea or lunch at the Colonial Cafe. Entertainment by local band Rheanna Leschke from 11.30am - 1.30pm. River 94.9 will be onsite with promotions. Browse the Art Gallery or take the family through the Queensland Transport Museum. COVID-19 restrictions are in place and mask wearing is mandatory indoors.

Laidley Pioneer Village & Museum is celebrating all things Aussie with entertainment for the whole family. Aboriginal artists and performers, baby animals, sheering demonstration, Scottish dancers, small engines operating, blacksmith demonstration, vintage cars & motorcycles display, kids games & activities and much more. Food and drinks available with sausage sizzle, burgers and other classic Australian foods. Open from 8am.

The Gatton & District Historical Society celebrates Australia Day with some great live entertainment, welcome to country, cultural workshops (some bookings required), gumboot throwing, thong throwing, paper aeroplane competitions, the great lamington bake off and free screening of the iconic Aussie film, 'The Castle'.

We will be having our Australia Day Celebrations in the back yard of Withcott Hotel with Noah’s Thoroughbred Racing Pigs, thong throwing competitions, frisbee golf, tug-o-war, live entertainment with Nash from 11:30am till 1:30pm. The day will kick off at 11:30am lunch will be good Aussie tucker from 11:30am-3pm. Lot’s of fun for the whole family with proceeds going to the Withcott & District Progress Association.
