Get ready, Laidley – from the 27th to the 29th of June, Lake Dyer will come alive with the thunder of engines, the cheers of the crowd, and the unmistakable buzz of an event that’s truly next level. Lockyer Powerfest is back, and 2025 is shaping up to be the most electrifying yet!
This year marks a huge moment for the region, as Laidley proudly hosts the debut round of the Battery World National Drivers’ Championship – a first for the Lockyer Valley and a big deal for Aussie powerboat racing. Across three massive days, some of the world’s best racers will tear across a brand-new, triangular course – the first of its kind on the national circuit – delivering high-speed, high-stakes action that’ll have you holding your breath and cheering at the same time.
These aren’t just any boats. Known as BAD – Blown Alcohol Displacement – or Forced Induction Inboard boats, they boast up to 2500 horsepower and can rocket from zero to 255 kilometres per hour in under five seconds. It’s wild, it’s loud, and it’s completely unforgettable. With practice laps, qualifying heats and final championship races, there’s plenty to keep you on the edge of your seat.
But Powerfest is more than just a motorsport spectacle. It’s a full weekend celebration where families, thrill-seekers and lovers of a good day out come together for fun, food, and community vibes. Between races, enjoy delicious food truck eats, a cold beverage from the bar, watch the kids light up with face painting, or take to the skies with a helicopter joy flight for a bird’s eye view of the action. Roll out a picnic rug on the grassy banks, soak up the sunshine, and settle in for a weekend of memories.
Friday is your chance to ease into the weekend with free entry as the teams hit the water for practice and qualifying from 11am. Saturday and Sunday the action starts from 9am, no need to pre-book tickets – just roll up and pay at the gate. Entry is $15 for adults, while kids under 12 get in for free.
If you really want to get amongst it, grab yourself a pit pass just an extra $5 – don’t forget your closed-in shoes! You'll step behind the scenes to see the boats and crews up close between races – the energy, the smell of fuel, the roar of engines... it's all part of the magic.
Whether you’re a long-time fan or a first-timer looking for a new adventure, Lockyer Powerfest 2025 promises to deliver action, excitement and all the good vibes you could ask for.
